If you order a Signature Series sink, like this one, all of your food preparation is done on the sink, not on the countertop. If you have a corner sink, this will make the corner sink so much more usable. Our first Millennia Signature Series Sink featured a ledge front and back so you can slide cutting boards, etc. back and forth. Photo of above sink was sent in by customer Robert P. - Merry Christmas!
I recently was asked if water sits on the ledge as I had no personal experience, so I asked Robert, the owner of this sink. This was his reply:
Don't think so of any significant amount. We've not noticed any problems. No more accumulates than what normally adheres to the sides through water's own adhesion properties (at least to Millennia SS). I imagine less droplets adhere to copper. With Millennia, I've not noticed any more spotting on the ledge than elsewhere and spotting is so minimal on millennia anyway I've quit my initial weekly cleaning. We LOVE how we can stack dishes INSIDE the sink now throughout the day (or overnight) rather than taking up counter space. Wife LOVES being able to wash the girl's hair in one side of the sink even w/dishes on the other. The old sink she'd have to clear the bowl. Here, w/Rachiele, you just "slide" any dishes over and use the sink. :) One day I noticed I had cleaned a refrigerator crisper drawer wholly within the sink with no water spilling on counter. Try that on double bowl. :). Also, my wide electric griddle for Sat morn eggs/bacon breakfasts is a breeze to wash in the single bowl sink. Can u tell? Though it was a large investment, we LOVE our sink (and faucet and sprayer) (and disposer). I'm amazed how often a kitchen sink is used so I'm still glad we made the investment.

The photo was taken in the Blue Lagoon. One of the things that Sandy asked for was a single bowl sink to replace the tiny double bowl sink that would have come standard with this boat. We designed a Millennia stainless steel sink with a small drain grid to sit on the bottom of the sink. We designed a right rear drain to offer maximum usable space in the sink and underneath the sink in the cabinet below. They were kind enough to send these photos.

Hi Dino, Sandy here with sink pictures,,,,,finally! They are not the best but you can see it. Hard to take pictures and show how great the sink is. We are in Fiji having a wonderful time.
